Cooking on the upliance is controlled by the touchscreen and not the mobile app.
Currently, the mobile app is used to access the recipe library and ingredients. You can use the app to create your grocery list. It also shows you information on cooking time, nutritional information per serving, allergen details, and images of the final dish.

Switching on/off a cooking step from the mobile app is a feature on the roadmap, and all current and future upliance owners will receive the feature as an over-the air update when it is ready.
